What is Designers Club?

Designers Club is a guided monthly session where we explore metalsmithing through the eyes of a designer. Each month focuses on a new theme, technique or artistic influence — offering fresh inspiration and plenty of space to learn through play.

This isn't a typical workshop. It’s a creative sanctuary for curious minds. A place to bring your ideas, explore new materials, sketch freely and craft pieces that tell a story.

Expect creative challenges, guided technique demos and time to explore your own vision — no experience needed.

Monthly Themes

Each session draws inspiration from a new muse, such as:

Frida Kahlo

Colour, symbolism, emotion and bold self-expression — translated into jewellery and small metal sculptures.

Amsterdam

Pulling patterns from rooftops, windows, bridges and canal houses to inspire architectural pieces filled with character.

Found Objects & Nature

Working with texture, organic forms and objects with stories.

And many more — shifting each month so you never stop growing.

Sessions: One Monday each month

Duration: Approximately 2.5 hours

Age: 16+

Where: Nicol Studio, 8 Crown Street, Wellington, TF1 1LP

What’s included: Studio access, tools, creative prompts and guidance

Price: £30 per session (one-off materials pack to be added to your 1st booking at checkout). Pay as you go basis so you can attend as and when you feel like it.

Places will be intentionally small so each participant gets attention, support and room to experiment.
